HW Communications is a company specialising in the development of positioning technologies which can be utilised within a vast range of application sectors. Our expertise is in the development of positioning technology embedded in the Mobile Terminal and network based, or third party, servers. This capability needs to be integrated into a wide range of applications that meet business, commercial, emergency and consumer infotainment services.

Our two current 'location determination' products include iPOS^N and POS^N+, which both utilise GSM network measurements to probabilistically formulate location upon mobile terminals and phones. Both products are capable of providing highly accurate (CEP P50 of sub 50m) location determination based solely upon 'hearing' signal strength measurements from up to 7 neighbouring GSM Base Stations. The main difference between iPOS^N and POS^N+ is that, within iPOS^N, the location algorithms are completed off-board within a secure host Server; whereas, POS^N+ carries out all calculations and Bayesian filtering processes upon the mobile device. The API within both variations is a simple-to-use, secure, XML-based application interface.
